As of July 21, 2026, heat pump funding includes a 30% base subsidy, a 16% climate speed bonus for replacing old fossil fuel heating systems, and an income-based bonus of up to 40%. With eligible costs capped at €28,000 for the first residential unit, the total subsidy rate is generally limited to 70% (up to 80% for very low-income households).
What requirements must businesses meet for their customers?
Prerequisites for heating subsidies include an existing building and optimization of the distribution system, typically through hydraulic balancing or the adjustment of air volume flows. New heat pumps must also be prepared for grid-oriented control (§ 14a EnWG), smart metering systems, and an energy management system. A documented heat load calculation ensures eligibility and prevents follow-up queries.
