Was ist ein Smart Meter und wann ist er Pflicht?

Ein Smart Meter erfasst den Stromverbrauch digital und überträgt ihn verschlüsselt via Gateway. Seit 01.01.2025 gilt die Einbaupflicht für Haushalte ab 6.000 kWh Jahresverbrauch, PV-Anlagen über 7 kW sowie steuerbare Verbraucher über 4,2 kW (z. B. Wärmepumpen, Wallboxen, Batteriespeicher). Der gestaffelte Rollout sieht bis Ende 2025 eine Quote von 20 % und bis Ende 2032 von 90 % der Pflichtfälle vor. Verantwortlich ist der Messstellenbetreiber, der örtliche Netzbetreiber oder ein wettbewerblicher Anbieter wie SpotmyEnergy.

Was ist ein Home Energy Management System (HEMS)?

Ein HEMS steuert den Energiefluss zwischen PV-Anlage, Speicher, Wärmepumpe und Wallbox automatisch nach Solarerzeugung oder günstigen Strompreisen. Das steigert den Eigenverbrauch und senkt den Netzbezug. Es ist optional zum Smart Meter buchbar, setzt ein intelligentes Messsystem aber voraus.

Welche Rolle spielt der dynamische Stromtarif?

Seit 1. Januar 2025 müssen Stromlieferanten Kunden mit Smart Meter dynamische Tarife mit stündlichen Börsenpreisen anbieten. Ein HEMS verlagert den Betrieb von Wärmepumpe, Wallbox oder Speicher automatisch in günstige Zeiten und senkt so die Stromkosten. Der Tarif erfordert nur einen Smart Meter und ist unabhängig vom HEMS buchbar.

Welche Voraussetzungen gelten für Installation und Netzanschluss?

Seit 1. Januar 2024 gelten neue Wärmepumpen, Wallboxen und Speicher ab 4,2 kW nach § 14a EnWG als steuerbare Verbraucher. Gegen reduzierte Netzentgelte kann der Netzbetreiber sie bei Engpässen drosseln; der Smart Meter bildet die Basis. Die Anlagenanmeldung übernimmt unabhängig vom Smart Meter Service die autarc Netzanmeldung.
