autarc launches Pipeplanning for UK heating installers

Berlin, September 2026 – autarc is expanding its heating planning software with Pipeplanning, a new tool that enables UK heating installers to design and dimension residential heating pipework directly within the floor plan editor. From heat pumps and hot water cylinders to radiators, risers, pipes and valves, installers can plan pipework room by room and floor by floor within one continuous workflow.

Pipework design is still often carried out manually or using separate tools, requiring installers to transfer building and system information between different stages of a project. Pipeplanning integrates this step directly with the building data and floor plans already available in autarc. This allows installers to move from the floor plan to a complete pipework schematic without rebuilding the project in another application.

Installers can place heating components directly on the floor plan and connect them using pipe runs with snapping. For each heating and hot water circuit, autarc calculates key values including flow rate, pressure drop and velocity. For newly planned pipework, the software automatically proposes a suitable pipe diameter. This applies both to complete pipework designs in new-build properties and to individual new pipe sections in retrofit projects, for example when radiators are replaced. Existing pipework can also be documented and included in the design, such as when sizing a new heat pump while retaining parts of the existing pipe network. A complete redesign of the pipework in an existing property is also possible. Materials and other default values can be configured individually, alongside components such as valves or volumisers with configurable KV values.

For multi-storey properties, risers connect the pipework between floors, which can be aligned using shared coordinates. A 3D exploded view shows how the floors and pipe runs connect throughout the property, without requiring CAD skills. A dedicated review function also flags potential planning issues, such as unconnected radiators or incomplete pipe connections, helping installers identify errors before completing the design. Once the pipework has been planned, autarc automatically provides an overview of the required materials, components and total pipe lengths.

Pipeplanning is now available to autarc users in the UK and is free to use at launch. Installers can find the feature in the new Pipework tab within the floor plan editor, directly next to the existing floor plan view.
